Concept
Design-and-build competition proposal for a new educational building of the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice. The project introduces a contemporary, flexible learning environment that responds to its historic context through a restrained architectural language, horizontal articulation, and stepped volumes. An open, light-filled interior structure supports creative work and future adaptability, while blue–green infrastructure – green roofs, rain gardens, and vertical greenery—integrates sustainability and water retention into the campus. Fully accessible and energy-efficient, the building strengthens the spatial dialogue of the Academy and creates a welcoming, inclusive academic environment.
